Continuity problems

OK, it is impossible to make sense out of everything, but I like to go as
far as possible, which includes many of the 'present' happenings in
Barks stories.
And of course, there's no reason to be "historically correct" at all cost:
if a story needs a certain switch to make it better, why object?

BTW: I always liked the story with Penny Wise. In the first Dutch translation
(in the 50s), she was a "flat-foot specialist", and Scrooge was worried
that she might reveal some facts. So no money involved there.
(In the reprint in 1978 however, the Dutch chose to translate Barks as literal
as possible.)
