I still don't agree with you that all the writers who put Grandma as
Scrooge's sister created an inconsisten Duck family. At least not from
their own point of view. My reason: They must have viewed Grandma as
being Hewey, Dewey and Louie's grandma, rather than Donald's. Grandma
would then be Donald's mother (or stepmother, since you don't want to
give him a biological mother, which implies a lot of filthy things that
you shouldn't bother the poor kids with) and, quite possibly, Scrooge's
sister.

In Swedish translations, matters are further complicated by the fact
that there are different words for "father's brother" and "mother's
brother", Scrooge consistently being referred to as "father's brother";
(farbror Joakim).
