	Dear Folks,

	Several things to comment on today.

	Torsten on MM and Goofy at EPCOT
	================================

	You implied that Gladstone might print that story... oh, gosh
I hope they *don't*!! It's another story from the same guys that gave
us "Mickey and the Sleuth," isn't it? And the thought that Mickey
spends the whole story lecturing... all work and no play makes Mickey
a dull boy.

	Answers for Mattias on "Bugged by Humbuggery"
	==============================================

	Yep, the "dead as coffin nails" reference was my literary gag,
and it was out of _David Copperfield._ (The "gag" part was actually
the pun in the panel *after* that quote.)
	Glad you enjoyed it... actually, I don't find the script to be
one of my better ones... but the coming one in DDA 25 definitely is,
and I think all of you will enjoy it.

	Harry bears a burro
	===================

	"The Dutch "Tom & Jerry" #205, available in every super
market, reprints a Barks story from Our Gang 33, 1946. The rest of
the comic is filled with stories by Oscar Martin, and the colophon
says "produced in cooperation with Semic, Sweden". I hope this means
we will see reprints of other Barks "Barney & Benny" stories. A lot
of good things come from Sweden..."

	Not when Harvey publishes their American editions. AHA! So
now I know where the foreign T&J stories that Harvey printed in 1991
came from! Whoever prepares the stuff in Sweden makes rough English
versions, just like Egmont does. Unfortunately, they *also* make
rough English versions of the *Barks* stories. When Harvey printed
Martin stories in English, they used Semic's rough scripts, not
bothering to have anyone dialogue them. And WHEN HARVEY PRINTED BARKS
STORIES IT HAD GOTTEN FROM SEMIC, IT ALSO USED SEMIC'S NEW SCRIPTS.

	The mystery is solved!

	Harvey also printed a few Barks stories from (badly damaged)
Dell proofs, and those had their original text. After about half a
year of Harvey's T&J, all non-T&J stories were dropped and only
Martin's stories were used. Then, starting a year ago, they began
using 1970s Whitman T&J stories... with the original text. It is
clear that Harvey got a bundle of proofs from Whitman, and now all
they care to do is use them up, not find old, obscure stuff or
anything by... whatshisname... Carl... Marx, I think.

	Quack! and Squeak! says

	David

	"You foolish peon! I AM SENOR MACAW!" <--- Barks
	"You stupid nerd! I AM THE PARROT!" <--- Semic's Barks
	(I may not have the Barks quote perfect, but it's close)
