Duckburg

Have there ever been any stories explaining just why Duckburg is named
"Duckburg"? At first I thought that it was named after the species of
its residents, but I then realized that most of its denizens seem to
be dogs, not ducks. Then I thought, "Maybe it was founded by a Duck."
- but then I remembered that it was founded by Cornelius Coot.
Shouldn't it be called "Cootville"?

My apologies if Barks or Rosa have explained this one, I'm not as well
read as I'd like to be.
