Halloween certainly isn't limited to the United States. In Mexico, they have
the Day of the Dead, and I suspect much of the Latin culture has something
similar.

The roots of 'hallowe'en (all hallows' evening) are strongly European,
pre-Christian even. They're that old.

Essentially, it's a propitiation for sucessful harvets, just as the may pole
celebration honors "seeding."

They are celebrations of the autumnal and vernal equinox, respectively.

Y'all MUST have something akin to it...
