...and the winner being decided by the height of the pile, rather than
the number of votes!

Whoever loses the election will regret having spent money to replace
the broken window pane just under the top of his vote pile, instead of
spending it on his campaign...

I wonder what they do with votes after an election is over. Do they
keep them in enormous vote bins, to preserve them as a form of record
of the election?  Do winners get to dive in the votes like porpoises,
burrow in them like gophers, and throw them in the air letting them hit
them on the head?
