It's from Barks' "Secret Of Atlantis". Scrooge buys
all the 1916 quarters, keeps one and makes it the
"rarest" coin in the world.

In the Greek edition (Komix #78) the globe contains
the title of the story. Maybe that's the purpose of
being there.

The "Shrinking Tightwad" story has a lot of Barks'
references. There is a reference to the "Secret of
Atlantis" on page 3, line 3, panel 2.
