I agree! it is too bad that Scarpa doesn't write
anymore! The two stories produced in Denmark aren't
bad at all, but they don't have the appeal of Scarpa's
best stories.
Scarpa's late stories were almost as good as his early
ones. I have always been fond of his famous adventures
such as L'unghia di Kali, or Il scozzese volante, the
short stories (30 to 40 pages long) that followed but
also more recent ones with Zenobia or Plottigat. Or
the one he did for France (les douceurs de Noël) which
was both written and drawn by the venetian artist.

I was told there are marketing reasons to this. The
young audience (around 7 years old) doesn't like long
stories.
Short stories are also published here in Mickey Parade
and Minnie :-(
