At Ebay, I just found several cover sets of The Carl Barks Library. These
cover sets seem to contain (all?) thick colour pages from the CBL sets.

A seller of one print from the CBL 8 cover set, gives the following
information on the history of these cover sets:

"When Another Rainbow inaugurated their hardcover Carl Barks Library
project in the early 1980's with a three volume set devoted to Carl Barks'
stories from Walt Disney's Comics and Stories, they decided to run off a
few hundred extra copies of the color plates used to print the set. When
they offered this portfolio of "printer's overruns" to the collector's
market, they were stunned to discover that demand was so great that the
portfolio of 24 prints sold out almost instantly. And although the press
run of the cover portfolio sets that would be issued with subsequent
volumes of The Carl Barks Library were vastly increased, the prints in the
portfolio from that first set were never reprinted, making them far and
away the most desirable color plates issued by Another Rainbow."

Is this information correct?

Are there CBL sets which were NOT released as cover sets?
(The cover sets I've seen contain material from CBL 1, 2, 8, and 9.)

Are there cover sets which contain material which was not used in
The Carl Barks Library?

BTW. According to the seller, the CBL reproduction of Barks' painting
"Who's Out There" is published in a bigger format than in "The Fine Art"
paintings book, in which it's published as a small plate.

Best wishes,

--- Daniel
