PETRI:
It's not the whole VNU that the Finnish company bought. The Finnish company
is SanomaWSOY which is the largest publishing house in Finland. Part of
SanomaWSOY is Helsinki Media which is the Finnish Disney-publisher. VNU did
only sell its magazines (not any newspapers) to SanomaWSOY including the
Disney-publications. The reason for the deal was something like to protect
SanomaWSOY from take overs.
Maybe we get to see more Dutch-stories here. Is it the same company that
publishes and produces stories in Holland? We might start to call Dutch
stories Finnish stories. ;-)

Actually it was VNU's magazine publishing unit
(CIG) that was sold to SanomaWSOY. The plan is now
to unite Helsinki Media and CIG as a one bigger
publishing house having it's HQ in Holland.(!)

Since both Disney weeklies (Finnish Aku Ankka and
yes, Dutch Donal Duck) are now published by the
same company it might be likely that in a long term
it will not be economically reasonable for the
company to have two totally different way compiled
36-pager Disney weeklies.
Today those weeklies are way too different. E.g.
Dutch Donald Duck is having absolutely too much old
Egmont stories already seen in Finland years ago.
Changes ahead for both in a future - probably.
