I remember know reading about it in "Picsou Magazine" special 20th Anniversary
issue (#240, Jan '92)
Here its is (p 95):

"1981
 An astronomer discovered a little asteroid some 350 million kilometers from
 the sun...  [...] it was called Barks as a tribute to the famous creator of  Uncle Scrooge!"
