I've seen Don when he was a guest at 3
Wondercon conventions in Oakland, Cali-
fornia. It would be very hard to find
a better guest or a better representa-
tive of duck comics.

Don is at his table all day every day
(except when he's a speaker on a panel),
without taking any breaks. He doesn't
even take a break to eat lunch!

He is always more than willing to auto-
graph your items, to talk with you,
and to discuss any story down to the
smallest detail.

The trip from his home to Oakland takes
a whole day. The return trip takes
another day. The convention doesn't
pay artists/writers an appearance fee,
as it does movie/t.v. stars. There are
very few real duck fans in this area.
So, there doesn't seem to be many re-
wards for Don to attend. Except maybe
to put smiles on kids, to possibly
create a lifelong duck fan or two, to
see a few old friends, and maybe even
purchase a comic book!

Eric
