Donald in WW2

Hi again! I have a new, and hopefully interesting
topic today. It's about the life of Donald from 1941
to 1945.

In a large book dedicated to HD&L
"Ole, Dole, Doffen" (1980), page 6
I have found a picture of Donald as a soldier in WW2.
The text below the picture says: "WW2 was marking the
film production in Disney's studios. Here is private
Donald in a characteristic scene from one of the short
films from the 1940s. Exhausted and ill in his feet –
but on the way towards victory."
You can see the scan here:

Do anyone here know what movie that picture is taken
from?

This also lead to the question if we should se this as
a fact about Donald's life in the period from 1941 to
1945, or if it should, for any reason, be ignored.

According to Don Rosa, Donald is born some time in the
early 1920's, and most male Americans born in that
period were one way or another involved in WW2. In my
opinion this leads to 3 possibilities:
1) Donald was a soldier (a private) in WW2 as shown in
that Disney war-time film.
or
2) One way or another Donald failed the tests at the
session and didn't go to the war.
or
3) Donald participated in WW2 in the "homefront" by
working in a factory, or whatever.

When it comes to other ducks at Donalds age, I assume
that Gladstone Gander would be way to lucky to end up
in the war. But the father of HD&L might have been in
the war. That could explain why he became so shocked
when HD&L blew the firecracker under his chair.

Best regards from Sigvald Grøsfjeld jr. (Norway)
