Not cricket from Pinoochio ?

It struck me yesterday that the saying "not cricket" (means something 
like not fair play) might have something to do with the movie Pinoochio.
Is it so that the movie gave birth to this expression or was it the 
other way around that this expression made Disney to choose a cricket as 
   Pinoochio's conscience ? Does anyone know or has any of you had the 
same thougts as I ?
