You are using the smiley in a way no-one else is using it.
I'd say it's much easier to adjust your own habits to the general habit, than having to explain time and again what you actually *mean* when you write something.

But it was exactly what you *wrote*!
We (readers) can't guess exactly what you mean. We can only interpret what you *write*.
Things would be easier if what you write is as close as possible to what you mean.
