Yes, Daan jippes still writes a story now and then.  He's producing stories for 
Egmont now; and, in addition to redrawing the Barks Jr. Woodchuck scripts, he 
writes and draws a story of his own.  He has written one or two stories a year 
since he moved to Egmont. I think they are very good stories too.  He, himself, 
says he doesn't enjoy writing nearly as much as drawing, and would rather just 
draw other people's stories, if the scripts are good.  Speaking of that... does 
anyone here on dcml know if Daan has been scheduled to draw Geoff blum's 
version of "Barks' Queen of the Apple Festival" story idea (Barks left not 
enough memories to form a plot).?
