The Danish fanzine DDF(R)appet issue 4 (from 2004) has a 6½ page article
on the reuse of this plot. Especially "The Rare Stamp Search" is a
rather close copy of Barks' story, except it is only half the length (so
some elements have been left out) and it features Mickey, Morty and
Ferdie instead of Donald and his nephews. There are whole passages that
are "exact" copies, complete with all gags left there. For instance the
passage where the main person searches an attic where they are surprised
by a stamp collector in a chest. As the article notices, even the plant
that has been growing its branches in between and behind the wall boards
is present in that passage of both stories. Another gag that has clearly
been copied is that of Donald/Mickey visits the postal office and is
told to get in line to see a list of postings in the relevant year. Also
here, the panels are "exactly" the same.
