Donald Duck & Co #40 1995
-------------------------

- Cover D-12081. Donald has dressed up a very humiliated Bolivar
as a rabbit. This is to fool a rabbit so he (Donald) can catch
it. The rabbit finds it very amusing. BTW: Donald seems to be
planning to catch the rabbit with a net, not a gun.

- Donald Duck, D94207, 10 pages. William van Horn.
Donald has decided to become a writer. He must then find
something to write about, and he has decided to write six
volumes about some Labylonian cave mushroom. He doesn't know
anything about it, so he'll have to do some research, like all
other serious writers. So, they (Donald and HDL) go to the
Ducburg caves. Since there isn't any Labylonian mushroom there,
and since there isn't any Labylonia either, he'll have to find
something else to write about. No problem. There have to be
something to write about in the caves. Not in the one with the
bear, though... They have a lot of exciting experiences in
the cave, which is a magnificent piece of nature. This makes
Donald so tired, though, that he'll rather write about how to
avoid becoming a writer.
Well, this is definitely my favorite van Horn story!
The art is beautiful.

- Article, presumably by Erik Horthe, about stories dealing
with things going on under the earth. Not very much text, but
at least there are references to the magazines were the stories
were published. There are references to three stories by
Carl Barks, one by Don Rosa (The Universal Solvent), and one
by Marco Rota.

- Mickey Mouse, D93542, 8 pages. Art by Esteban.
Goofy is having a lecture about photographing at a school.
The pupils are very young, and, according to Goofy, more
interested in advanced warfare than in simple photographing.
He's trying to teach them to make a simple camera. Mickey
saves him and takes him to the bird club. They are trying to
stop the building of an amusement park in an area with a lot
of birds. Mickey and Goofy finds out that there is a treator
in the bird club, but since the crooks have taken Goofy's
camera, and have locked them into a small house, they can't
do anything -- except from using the small house as a camera.
Goofy uses the same technique as he tried to teach the children,
but in a quite larger scale.
Very simple art, but a quite good story. The solution
to the problem, by using the house as a camera was really
good. Also it's Goofy who gets the ideas in this story, when
Mickey has resigned.

- Donald Duck, H9161, 4 pages.
Another fight between Donald and Gladstone. Daisy will
go out with the one of them who wins a contest in the park the
same day. The goal is to find the most valuable item. Donald
fools Gladstone to give him a small chest with jewels, which
he's found. In return Donald gives Gladstone a coin. The coin
does of course show up to be more vluable than the fake jewels.
Not a very interesting story. Good art, though.

- Grandma Duck, D93301, 6 pages.
Another story were Grandma's supposed to take a vacation
at some distant hotel. And as always she solves every problem
at the place.

- Uncle Scrooge, D94202, 8+ pages. Don Rosa.
     Second part of tIST.

- Mickey Mouse, KF 12.31.78, 1 page.
