I'm a great fan of Don and his stories, and I really enjoyed the epic Life
of Scrooge story-line. It was well thought-out, throughly researched, true
to all the Barks facts we've come to know and love, and a great story in
its own right: touching, humorous, exciting and whatnot.

But, for me, a big part of the Lo$ experience was that it was consistent
with all the Barks lore, and actually managed to mention ALL the Barks
facts. The new stories (like Cutty Sark) seem to be "nothing but"
adventures set in the past. Not part of the canon, if you will.

Whereas there was good reason to set the stories into the past with the
original Lo$, the new ones seem to be set there for no particular reason.
Just imaginary stories with this, in a way, new character, Buck McDuck.

I don't know, maybe it was just that I didn't find Cutty Sark to be one of
Don's better stories. All that I said above could also apply to Hearts of
the Yukon, but I loved that. Somehow Cutty didn't seem to explore
Scrooge's character at all, just have do some cool action sequences. But
maybe it's just me.
