mathematics in Duckburg: public lecture

Twice a year the University of Oslo opens its more or less 
pearly gates to the "general public", at least, specifically,
to the high school teachers and pupils of Oslo. Thus there
is a "pedagogical theme day" (perhaps primarily for the teachers)
and a "high school day" (perhaps primarily for the pupils),
both typically in January. This is the chance to hear the 
latest on astrophysics, discuss ethics in religion, learn more
about Dostoyevskij, to be confused by oil economics, to be inspired 
by the sex life of snails, etc etc. Each department selects a 
lecturer & a theme from its staff. People visiting the university 
campus on these days compass themselves from lecture to lecture, 
with the help of a nice booklet of information distributed to 
teachers and pupils in advance; this information is also available 
on the internet. 

So, welcome to
