>I guess most of you read the same weekly as I do. I mean, not the SAME
- but
>the same comics, the same articles, the same contests... only in a
different

into
>something better?
AS Harry noted, we don't read the same magazine. There are many
differences between
the weeklies in Europe - Som of the comcis inside are the same, but not
the magazines.
Look at things like Komix, Picsou Mag., DD Sonderheft, Donald Duck
Weekblaad and a scandinavian weekly. Wow...

And though I agree with you, I can't do anything about it. We have to
face that we're a minority here. If I eg phone the publisher they would
tell me possibly the same as I'm going to do, and they can't do
anything about it - the only purpouse of a phone call would be to tell
that I like the mag, cause it's what i have close access to.
They would only change the mag. if a majourity of readers would want
it, and that majority doesn't want a change, cause they don't know the
magazines from the other countries. They haven't seen how great the
articles in Komix of Zio Paperone are. They haven't fealt the paper
quality of these issues.
A book I once read talked about that the danish weekly would die before
the turn of the millenium, and I can't tell you how happy I am, that he
wasn't right.
I love the weekly, and call it my favorite mag. when ever I can, as
it's the best i will probably get.

>Here are my opinions on what I want from a weekly Donald Duck
magazine:
>- The cover should, instead of being a funny gag, be more like a
WDC-cover.
>I LOVED the cover for no. 21 this year - Don Rosa's cover for "The
Beagle
>Boys vs. The Money Bin".
As Harry noted. Many many a WDC-cover, also by Barks were mear
gag-cvoers. What
you want, is probably the same as I - a cover related to a comic
inside, not the
usual gag-cover. I liked the cover for issue 21 of the scandinavian
weekly (and
we ought to scan it and put at duckhunt), because it illustrates the
Rosa story.
If you look in the issue you wont find a panel like it, as it sort of
picks up the plot of the story and tries to catch the attention of the
buyer in a store. That's the usual trick, which is also used when it's
a gag-cover. Both kinds of covers can do this

>- The Mickey Mouse comics should be removed and placed in the Mickey
Mouse
>Magazine (a monthly in Norway, I don't know about other countries).
Mickey
>has NOTHING to do in the DD-weekly - all they have in common is Walt
Disney.
I don't agree, Olaf. The Mickey Mouse-monthly only exists in Norway and
Sweden.
Here it's a Donald Duck Extra and it only prints one Mickey per issue.
I wouldn't want Mickey to be removed from the weekly - there's a
tradition saying he has a story in every issue.
As Harry noted the weeklies in France, and Germany are Mickey's the
italian style weeklies in Italy and Greece are Mickey's too. But non of
these are so firmly connected to Egmont as the scandinavian countroes
are. I can tell you that the weekly in Check Republic was also a Mickey
but turned over to be a Donald-weekly as they too like him better
(they=the public).
