Yes, - Professor McCobb's information about zombies is based on anecdotal
((and scientific (I hope)) observations (and study?) of individuals thought
to be in that catatonic - type state.  It is possible that the slowing -
down of body functions which often accompanies the various forms of
catalepsy (sleeping sickness) may result in a longer life for victims than
they might have had had their body been operating at its normal speed. 
That could explain Bombie's advanced aged, and why he was able to roam the
World for the many years between Scrooge's youth and his old age.
