Barks' Little Joke

I cannot believe that not ONE member wants to comment on Barks' joke that
calisota was known as "The VAMPIRE State". I thought that fact might at least
stir up an amusing debate between serious Barksist/Donaldists and a few
jokesters regarding whether or not some "Barks Duck Universe 'facts'" should be
removed from consideration as "true" facts, or just be tossed away as invented
solely for a one-time joke effect.

I, for one, am in favour of using EVERY clue from Barks (especially those
represented BOTH by printed word AND in picture representation). In real life,
the "Empire State" (New York) had a skyscraper (Empire State Building) named
after it. Therefore: The "Vampire State Building" must represent "The VAMPIRE
State (i.e. Calisota).

This Barksian fact may also be the explanation for the hallowed history of
Count Duckula, as represented by the US publication of "Count Duckula" comic
books. They must represent a graphic account of that Grizzly period in
Duckburg's history! :-)

Also: No One thinks that that old ramshackle shack on Dreary Street (Angina
Arthritis' House) is a memorable and important landmark in Duckburg????
