-And I agree. No doubt, Don Rosa is a great storyteller. As long as it comes to longer adventurestories - Barks, Rosa and Rota are, IMHO, the greatest tellers... 
Lots of other folk write great scripts for shorter stories - but not as consistently as the three mentioned above.

-Please. Don't. Do NOT stop drawing your stories. I cannot imagine Barks stories drawn by e.g. Vicar or Branca - as well as I cannot imagine a Rosa-story without the special Rosa-art - which I like and admire.

  It does not matter that your art is far from being the best around, that you don't have the artist training and blablabla.

  What matters is that your scripts are way, way above those of the other Disney artists and that therefore your stories can't be forgotten.

  Which actually makes me wonder (especially if you would like to improve your revenues) why you do not start selling scripts that others would draw in parrallell to writting and drawing stories.
