I should write:
"the most popular LIVING creator"

But is Barks really more popular than Rosa now? There are so many Don Rosa
websites in the net, Rosa name is put on every cover of many weeklies when
there is his story inside, many people, also on this ML, thinks that Don
Rosa is the best Disney artist ever so I wouldn't be 100% sure.
