Il Gatto

Hi everyone.

I was looking around in Inducks and came across an old Italian Disney
character called Il Gatto:

Apparently, this "crooked, catfaced newspaper reporter" was used in the
late 1930s -- and then prettty much forgotten about.

Does anybody know more about this guy? Why has he never been brought
back (except for that 1994 story, where I suspect he made only a cameo)?
And is there a picture of him somewhere on the Net?
