DISNEY COMICS: THE CLASSICS COLLECTION VOLUME 1 HC
Recommended by Steve Leaf

Before there were DVDs and VCRs, the only way you could re-live those
movies and TV shows you enjoyed was either owning a copy of the film
(not always legal), a novelization of the show or, since we are talking
comics, a comic adaptation of that movie. The leader in adaptations for
TV and movie comics was Dell Publishing with their Four Color (FC) line.
Chief among their titles were those adapting Disney feature films.

Disney Editions is now collecting some of the best and rarest of the
Four Color books. Reprinted for the first time in decades are classics
such as Walt Disney’s Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs (from FC #49,
1944), Walt Disney’s Bambi (from FC #12, 1942), Walt Disney’s Dumbo
(from FC #17, 1941), Walt Disney’s Alice in Wonderland (from FC #331,
1951), and Walt Disney’s Peter Pan (from FC #442, 1953).

While these have become available on DVD (although some may have gone
back to the vault as of this writing!), this book will allow you to
either recapture your youth, or enjoy the experience of reading them
with your children — instead of watching TV!

And while looking at these classics of the past, you can also look at
Gemstone Publishing’s The Life and Times of Scrooge McDuck Companion,
featuring the classic Disney character as done by the talented Don Rosa.

Don’t forget to check the Books Section for the Third edition of Disney
A to Z: The Official Disney Encyclopedia and Disney Dossiers: Character
Files from the Walt Disney Studios, both excellent reference books on
these American movie and television icon!

These books are wonderful for kids of all ages and Disney knows how to
entertain kids of every generation.
